CCRí boys buiilt on their terrific athletics performances at the South Munster Track and Field competition last week when they returned to take on the best in Munster this weekend. The outcome was also very positive with CcRí turning in many top class performances. Our school took two 1500m Gold medals and finished 2nd in the third 1500m race. In the Gold medals were Liam Hennessy Senior and Charlie O' Donovan Junior, with Luke Horgan taking Silver in the Intermediate race.
It was a significant week for Coláíste Chríost Rí in both academic and sporting terms as the students scooped awards in a number of disciplines.
Coláiste Chríost Rí have won the Pfizer Chemistry Quiz for Senior students. Form over 60 teams the Capwelll college came out best.
It is with deep regret that we report that our past student and teaching colleague Eoin Deasy has died in a skiing accident in Switzerland/Liechtenstein. Eoin lived life to the full and was a very enthusiastic teacher and sportsperson. We send our condolences and prayers to his family and friends. May he rest in Peace.

Visit of his Excellency Most Rev. Charles Brown, Papal Nuncio, to Coláiste Chríost Rí.
It was a case of coming home for musician Jimmy Crowley this week as he returned to his alma mater Coláiste Chríost Rí to play a series of short concerts there during seachtain na Gaelige. Jimmy, who is based in Cobh, was educated in the Capwell school during the 1960s and has since become a household name for his folk music. He performed the first concert in the school’s recently refurbished theatre using the built-in sound system and lighting.
